Personally, I feel that it is not just important but also essential for singaporeans to write plays for their fellow singaporeans. Through plays like "I not stupid", directed by our very own Singapore movie director Jack Neo, Singaporeans, especially the teenagers who are not very exposed to social, political and economic situations in Singapore, can actually understand how things are in a way they are and movies like this do serve as educational purposes too. Singaporeans should also support local films as they are definitely more relevant compared to the Hollywood movies which are quite unrelated to the lives of Singaporeans.
